YTM Organized Lipur Lara Digital Platform Workshop

08th Nov 2024

Art, Culture & Heritage

Yayasan TM recently organized a two-day workshop on fact-checking and the framework for the Lipur Lara Digital Platform that was attended by experts from universities, the film industry, and other professionals involved in Arts, Culture and Heritage. It is one of two sessions we will hold over the next six months.

The workshop was attended by Hassan Abdul Muthalib, Father of Malaysia Animation; Dr. Rozinor Razali, Film Director; Dr. Madiawati binti Mamat@Mustafa from Universiti Malaya (UM); Anissa Abdul Aziz, Dr. Farah binti Zaini, Aliffazraie Jali, Syarafina binti Abdullah from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS); Dr. Nordiana binti Ab Jabar from Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK); Dr. Mohd Faradi bin Mohamed Ghazali from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Terengganu (UniSZA) and Tan Hui Koon from National Arts Gallery.

The Lipur Lara project was set up in July 2022 to preserve Malaysian legends, myths, folktales, literature, heroes stories and even history, all of which have been integral parts of our nation's intangible heritage. Currently, we are working on a digital database that contains all of this information about these Malaysian characters. In the Lipur Lara online repository, authorities, organizations, universities, and the public will share collections of characters from stories they heard.
