In conjunction with World No Plastic Bag Day, which is celebrated on July 3 every year, Yayasan TM and our collaboration partner HaraMakers have organized a sharing session about the negative effects of plastic use and the importance of plastic recycling. This session was attended by 50 participants.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Hussain Ismail, Director of the Industry Network Center at the Industrial, Community, and Alumni Network Office (ICAN) of Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), shared his views on recycling innovations and methods to reduce the use of single-use plastics.

Ms. Syuhada Norman from the Faculty of Science, Universiti Malaya (UM), in Environmental Microbiology shared about microplastic research in water and how it affects the environment and human health.

Under the SUP.rise initiative, Haramakers, together with the Reimagine Plastic community, have produced a hot air balloon designed and made entirely from single-use plastic bags as a symbol of the long-term negative impact that plastic waste culture will have on our planet. This balloon was also exhibited in the Muzium Telekom's courtyard on 15 July 2023.

Throughout the month of July, let's join hands for the "Plastic Free" challenge while reducing the use of single-use plastics. Together, we can reduce the increasingly alarming greenhouse effect.
