YTM and NADMA Lead RANDEX 2024 to Build Collaborative Response Capacities
09th Nov 2024
Yayasan TM (YTM) welcomes the recently launched NADMA Directive No. 1, aligning its disaster preparedness initiatives towards capacity building and strengthening multi-stakeholder collaboration in implementing more effective and comprehensive disaster management.
Therefore, once again YTM collaborated with the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) to organise the NADMA Disaster Emergency Simulation Exercise (RANDEX) Partner Program. This program was also implemented by RED A Humanitarian Development Global, with a line of expert trainers from various organisations and institutions.
The primary purpose of this program is to empower participants with international-standard humanitarian operation training and simulation modules and enhance synergy and cooperation in formulating and implementing effective disaster preparedness and response plans.
The program, which took place in Bukit Fraser, Pahang, from 27 to 30 October, is the only program/platform in Malaysia that brings together and trains NGOs under NADMA Partners as well as representatives from government agencies such as NADMA, the National Security Council (MKN), the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), the Malaysian Special Search and Rescue Team (SMART), the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM), and institutions such as the National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM) and the Enforcement Leadership Management University (ELMU).
127 participants included expert trainers from various organisations, facilitators who are also RANDEX 2023 alumni and TM Reaching Out Volunteers (TMROVers).
We hope this program will also be a catalyst and inspiration for participants who may be among the future leaders in this humanitarian ecosystem to continue helping those affected by disasters.
