Empowers Young Innovators in Digital Tech

23rd May 2024

Education

We have introduced a new component of TM Future Skills (TMFS) which is the TMFS Tech Titans Challenge. The program which aims to develop innovative talent in the digital and technology fields has started its pilot session recently.

After opening the application among schools throughout Malaysia, we received a total of 120 entries and 25 schools were shortlisted as finalists. 75 lower form secondary students under the supervisory of 25 teachers participated in this 3 days 2 nights hackathon held at Multimedia University, seeing 5 groups with the best projects take home prizes amounting to RM30,000.

The Chairman of Telekom Malaysia (TM), Dato' Zainal Abidin Putih officiated the closing ceremony, accompanied by TM's Chief Human Capital Officer, Sarinah Abu Bakar and Yayasan TM Director, Ainol Shaharina Sahar. Also present were representatives of the Unit Dasar Pendidikan Digital, Unit Pelaksanaan & Prestasi Pendidikan, Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia, Pusat Sains Negara, stakeholders and media.

This encouraging response is an indicator for us to continue this hackathon series in the coming year, our unwavering commitment to nurturing the new generation as drivers of the ongoing Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0).

Heartfelt appreciation to our strategic partner Creative Minds, the Ministry of Education Malaysia, volunteers who are our scholars, teachers and most importantly the students for their dedication and commitment.
