Muhammad Asif, one of our Future Leaders Scholarship recipients, has just embarked on his professional journey, joining the Telco Cloud team under TM Group Network Technology.

Asif graduated with First Class Honours in Electronics Engineering majoring in Telecommunications and was awarded the Chancellor’s Award — the highest honour bestowed upon graduates of Multimedia University (MMU) — representing over 3,600 graduates from the Class of 2024. He also received the Anugerah Cemerlang Harapan Bangsa from the MMU Foundation and the Permata Award from the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

During his university years, Asif was actively involved in co-curricular activities, serving as President of several student bodies including the IEEE MMU Student Branch, Engineering Society, Multimedia Smart Technology Team (MUST), and MMU Cybertron Team. He led various STEM initiatives, conducting workshops for hundreds of university and school students across the Klang Valley.

Asif’s passion for engineering extends beyond the classroom. He has achieved top placements in numerous competitions such as the ZTE IoT Innovation Challenge, the 5G Hackathon, and Robocon Malaysia 2022. Notably, he was the only student appointed as a judge for the 2024 Youth Innovators Challenge (YIC) for the KL/Selangor/Putrajaya region. His dedication to STEM education also earned him the 2023 Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Malaysia.
