Congratulations to 14 PPR Pantai Ria's youths for completing the Practical Woodworking Course from 12 - 13 February and 25 - 26 February in collaboration with the Social Enterprise RE:KAYU, WORX Malaysia, Pejabat Ahli Parlimen Lembah Pantai, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur and KRT PPR Pantai Ria.

This project aims to design and manufacture “Set Perabot Eko Mesra” with affordable furniture for our B40 community, especially PPR.

In just two days, the Young Apprentices from PPR Pantai Ria have transformed recycled wood pallets into a simple clothing rack and shoe rack! The next innovation project by these talented youths are the folding vendor's carts for TEMU Weekends at Muzium Telekom.

We would like to extend our highest appreciation to YB Fahmi Fadzil for the warm welcome and insightful sharing during the PPR Pantai Ria visit on 12 February 2012. Woodworking is not just a hobby or skillset, it is also a practical way to add meaningful aspects to our life. The RE:KAYU Woodworking Course has demonstrated how apprenticeships can upskill individuals to enable them to get on in life and realize their aspirations.
