YTM and BBNGO Equip Students and Volunteers for Disaster Preparedness

22nd Jan 2025

Community & Nation Building

The transitional phase of monsoon is now beginning. Yayasan TM continues its disaster preparedness efforts in collaboration with the Pertubuhan Gabungan Bantuan Bencana NGO Malaysia (BBNGO) to raise awareness of the importance of being prepared for disasters.

On 10 September 2024, a school-level disaster preparedness program was conducted at SK Beserah, with the involvement of 9 teachers, 65 students, and 5 TMROVers volunteers from TM Pahang.

This program also provides participants with the practical skills needed in disaster situations through group activities to learn basic life support (BLS), psychological first aid (PFA) and emergency bag preparation. This is a proactive measure to ensure that the community, including students, is able to act effectively and quickly when needed.
