Empowering Change: Yayasan TM's 'Back to Society' Programme Equips Inmates with Socioeconomic Skills for Reintegration

Back to Society Programme, a social impact initiative by Yayasan TM was recently launched at Pusat Koreksional Jasin, Melaka. In collaboration with Jabatan Penjara Malaysia and SAORA Plus, this programme aims to empower the the marginalised community, namely prison inmates, through socioeconomic skills as part of their rehabilitation and reintegration process into society.

Commissioner General of Malaysia Prisons, YBhg. Datuk Hj Nordin Hj Muhammad, attended the ceremony to inaugurate the programme along with Director of Yayasan TM, Puan Ainol Shaharina Sahar and senior officers from the Malaysian Prisons Department.

Since its inception in 2022, this programme has trained 400 prisoners of the Pusat Koreksional Jasin in fish farming and is set to expand this year to include 400 new participants from Penjara Kluang, Johor and Pusat Pemulihan Dadah Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan.

This programme is one of the Yayasan TM’s efforts to ensure that no community group is excluded from economic development and provide new opportunities for participants to improve their wellbeing.
