YTM Shares Malaysia's Disaster Risk Management Approach on the International Stage
30th Jun 2026
YTM shared Malaysia's experience in strengthening multi-stakeholder partnerships for disaster risk management during the "Rakan NADMA: Strengthening Community and Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships in Disaster Management" forum, held in conjunction with the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) 2026.
Representing YTM and GLC Demi Rakyat & Negara (GDRN), Datin Noorul Syifa Mohd Isa, Head of Community & Nation Building, shared Malaysia's experience in adopting the Whole-of-Society approach, which brings together the government, private sector, NGOs, academia, and local communities to build a more resilient and disaster-ready society.
Key messages highlighted during the session included:
- The private sector is a strategic partner that contributes expertise, capabilities, and resources—not just funding.
- Trust and collaboration must be established before disasters occur, not only during times of crisis.
- Communities should be empowered to serve as the first line of preparedness and disaster response.
YTM's participation reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening community resilience through strategic partnerships and collective efforts that create meaningful and lasting impact for society.
